Unit 1 - Our first sentences
We say where things are. Who is who and what is what.
Unit 2 - I love Czech
We will deal with places, accusative, locative and posessive pronouns.
Unit 3 - Time is money
What time, verbs -á, -í, -e. Personal pronouns in accusative.
Unit 4 - How are we going there?
Days of week, where shall we go? (genitive), modal verbs, how/with what? (instrumental)
Unit 5 - I know that I know nothing.
Where are you going to put it? places, negation, more of perfective verbs
Unit 6 - The future in numbers
numbers, plural in nominative and accusative, adjectives in accusative, future

Czech vocabulary drills and exercises - Czech as a foreign language.

These vocabulary drills and exercises are a unique opportunity for those who learn Czech as a foreign language to practice and improve their vocabulary online in a playful way.

These vocabulary drills provide an unparalleled opportunity to supplement any Czech language course online or offline and are used as complementary exercises for our online Czech grammar crash-course. The scores are saved and monitored real-time and are always available for review in the students log-in page. The drills are carefully graded to start with simple grammar and gradually become more and more difficult.

 

Who is it for?

These vocabulary exercises are important language resource for learners of Czech as a foreign language who are beginning to learn this beautiful language and for those who would like to improve their vocabulary in a playful way. To improve your grammar, reading and listening skill we would recommend you to use other sections of our project such as Czech Grammar Crash-course or Czech Grammar exercises for foreigners.


How to use the exercises.

The first two lessons are free, however to save your result to your profile you will need to register using your email address. To create access to other units we ask you to support as and become our subscriber. You will not regret it as we will band over backwards to satisfy your Czech learning appetite.

1. Czech vocabulary exercises are built upon fifteen carefully graded units. The list of those units can be found in the menu on the left. Each Unit contains two to five exercises.

2. To practice these words just click on the "Chci procvičit tato slovíčka" link.

3. Continue according to the instructions. Say the Czech equivalents of the English words to yourself and then press the "HOTOVO" button.

4. Now you are shown the correct Czech translation. Since there are many ways to translate a word into a foreign language we do not ask you to fill in some crazy forms but you are given two buttons and you are self-evaluating yourself to make it impossible for the program to penalize you for typo errors or if the word you have said to yourself is correct too but it would not be accepted by our program.Self evaluation is at your discretion.

5. Once you have completed the exercise you are given the option to go to your statistics page where you can see your overall results

From the snapshot below you can see when a student last did a word and how successfully.
